Hah haaa... I did it. Finally. This... might not seem different for you people, but it was for me. It was a picture in a way that I've rarely done before... and... I love it ^^ Not just for the story behind it, but for the picture itself.
This picture is... scary. Beyond most things I've done before. The characters you see are Michael Snide - a scientist and doctor declared a genius (belongs to *Verdokai ) - and Mirage - a shapshifter (belongs to me) Or... it's not really Mirage to be honest, it's a clone of Mirage >_> (This is a sci fi story, duh, called A Fool's Luck )
It all started with a young boy that wanted to make a difference in the world. He wanted to heal the sick and if possible, prevent them from becoming sick in the first place. He had brilliant plans on how to save the world from suffering and everything that made it a horrible and harsh place. That little boy was Michael 'Venom' Snide. Charming little lad really.
At the age of sixteen all the elite medical schools were already fighting for his attention and soon he found himself with an own laboratory and endless possibilities to save the world... That's when things started going wrong.
Patients started dying after experiments - seemingly for no reason - people whispered about alien creatures locked in towers and basements and the Restricted Section of the laboratory soon became a place few dared to speak about. The caring, loving boy had become a horrible monster. His ultimate goal - peace and well-being for all - was great enough to sacrifice some lives, he thought, what is one life compared to millions after all? His methods and experiments became more and more dangerous and more and more hidden. Soon people didn't even want to imagine what happened behind those walls, and all knew that whatever it was, even Hell was probably a nicer place to visit.
Somewhere along the way, someone coined the term 'Snidean', which, in short, referred to hideous and highly unethical actions within science, medicine or sometimes even governments. Michael Snide had become one of the most feared people in the whole Galaxy.
Then, Mirage came along. Mirage is a shapeshifter, but not just any shapeshifter. With each new shape - either existing people or those he made up - his DNA and all physical abilites changes. As if this wasn't enough to make all Snide's scientist senses go nuts, it was shown that Mirage's own body - own DNA - is pretty much indestructable. He can never get ill, since his body either rejects or swallows foreign substances (which it does without harming him in any way), making his immunesystem the most powerful one ever seen In addition to this, his DNA also blends together with the already existing one... meaning that by injecting his blood into someone that suffers from leukaemia his blood will blend with that person's - with the exact same DNA - but remove the signs of the disease. In short: He's a medical miracle. The problem? Snide fell in love with him.
The almighty and oh so unethical scientist fell in love with the person that would make his dream come true. His reaction? Panic. He kept repeating to Mirage: "It's a good thing that I love you..." since he knew - as everyone else, but Mirage - that otherwise he would have done it. He would have taken Mirage, killed him, cloned him and then shared pieces of the clones to the world to be able to fight off all diseases imaginable. They would grow Mirages on fields, in tanks, with the only purpose of killing them and using their organs and body fluids. But, Snide loves him.
Why did I then draw this? Because I want Snide to suffer. So yes, I drew a Mirage clone in a tank and Snide standing by it, admiring the fine work he has made... not. Snide would be devastated. If he ever did it - kill Mirage and cloned him - he would crush himself. Honestly. GOD he would suffer. And GOD I would MAKE him suffer! DX If he would be capable of doing this, he would be capable of anything. But he would still love Mirage. I think that he would always love Mirage (see the little heart there on the picture? ) but he would be without him - having killed him, cloned him and sold off pieces off him to the rest of the world.
This one kind of saddens me, yes... seriously. I have tears in my eyes right now After reading the "essay" and all that... It's just... such a horribly sad story x'D And I'm... not really sure how to say what's moving around in my head but this picture really messed up my emotions and made me go all sad and sympathising... Not knowing whether that's needed or not but cope with it
I absolutely friggin' LOVE the light effects O_o Those took my breath away before the picture itself did so They're... all green and soft and very science-ish... You get my point And I love how Mirage's hair is all flowing and swirly, and I love all the little details and... mjeh. I could rant forever but it wouldn't sound too intelligent Just know that I love it and that it really made me react, 'cause at least it saddens me. So if ye wanted emotions then mission accomplished ^^
Michael Snide is a dangerous man, not even able to rely on himself, not even able to wake up in the morning, next to the face of his loved one, and know that he'll fall asleep like that ever again - or if he's going to end it, forever, for the sake of science, medicine and all those million lives, the million people suffering from various diseases... for the sake of that old dream.
He really has a tough choice. His one, true love vs his life-long dream, a dream he is endlessly pursuing... in all ways but the one that will make it come true.
Come to think of it, this is the most 'well-written' sub story in the entire 'game'.
And the most horrifying dream. I'm still not sure how Snide will cope with it. This picture did a lot of good. <3

I really like the colouring on the doc, and the light Lovely green colour!

It was so fun to make! I mean, I just shaded the coloured parts, and I did it on the background colour (the dark grey one) It was a good way to make the light effects show it seems ^^
I like the green too I think I'm gonna start calling it Snidean Green
Indeed he is... I think that Trick is one of the few that thinks that he will never do it >_> Perhaps because Trick is... well... Trick wants people to be good But most others (of my characters at least) would probably bet on Snide killing Mirage instead of keeping him...
It's kinda sad really... to force Snide to chose...
And... well... that might be partly because we've focused on it more >_>
We'll see what happens I guess. Either he will become more eager to kill him or not kill him. In either case, it will do something to the story...

And yes, I see the heart

The background was somehow interesting to make...
Thanks!
